LA-UR-92-3726 Intrinsic Parity of the (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) Mesons ∗
نویسنده
چکیده
Contrary to the usual belief, by carefully examining the operation of parity transformation on the (1, 0)⊕(0, 1) mesons in the generalized canonical representation, we establish that the (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) meson-antimeson pair have opposite intrinsic parity. This opens up the possibility that while the particles without an internal structure may utilize one representation of the Lorentz group, phenomenologies of composite particles may exploit a different representation. As such (perhaps, only some of) the meson structures beyond the standard q Q may exploit the (j, 0)⊕ (0, j) generalized canonical representation of the Lorentz group – this would result in a meson and the associated antimeson to manifest themselves in different partial waves.

LA-UR 93-2645, HEP-TH/yymmnn Majorana-Like (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) Representation Spaces: Construction and Physical Interpretation ∗
We present a formalism that extends the Majorana-construction to arbitrary spin (j, 0)⊕(0, j) representation spaces. For the example case of spin-1, a wave equation satisfied by the Majorana-like (1, 0) ⊕ (0, 1) spinors is constructed and its physical content explored. The (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) Majorana-construct is found to possess an unusual classical and quantum field theoretic structure. Relevanc...

We begin with a few remarks on an explicit construction of a Bargmann-Wightman-Wigner-type quantum field theory [Phys. Lett. B 316, 102 (1993)] in which bosons and associated antibosons have opposite relative intrinsic parities. We then construct (1, 0) ⊕ (0, 1) Majorana (CP self conjugate) and Majorana-like (CΓ 5 self conjugate, Γ 5 = chirality operator) fields. We point out that this new stru...

By considering the parity-transformation properties of the (1/2, 0) and (0, 1/2) fields in the front form we find ourselves forced to study the frontform evolution both along x+ and x directions. As a by product, we find that half of the dynamical degrees of freedom of a full theory live on the x+ = 0 surface and the other half on the x = 0 surface. Elsewhere, Jacob shows how these results are ...

We present results of a 2+1+1 flavor twisted mass lattice QCD computation of the spectrum of D mesons and Ds mesons and of charmonium. Particular focus is put on the positive parity D states (so-called D∗∗ mesons) with quantum numbers JP = 0+, 1+ and 2+. Besides computing their masses we are also separating and classifying the two JP = 1 states according to the angular momentum/spin of their li...
متن کاملStatus of Hadron Spectroscopy at LEAR
Recent observations by the Crystal Barrel experiment of two scalar resonances, f 0 (1370) and a 0 (1450) have allowed us to clarify the members of the scalar nonet. In addition, a third scalar, f 0 (1500), appears to be supernumerary, and is a candidate for the scalar glueball expected near 1550 MeV. Light quark meson spectroscopy studies the mesons which are made up of u, d, and s quarks. With...
